Though there is a fair amount of rain scheduled in the forecast, spring is definitely here and with it, the general longing for the fresh herbs and veggies of summer. Many people get the itch to get a garden going, in an apartment though, it can be hard to figure out what to do in order to get your hands on something delicious with limited space.
We’ve put together a list of a couple of spring projects for you if you want to grow some herbs, veggies (or even fruit!) at your apartment.
#1: Growing tomatoes on a balcony
For many, the epitome of summer is a fresh, homegrown, delicious tomato. While it might seem impossible to do this yourself if you live in an apartment, if you’ve got a balcony, you’re in luck! Just remember to share with your neighbors. We’ve also found some great recipes to share - enjoy!
#2: Growing Fresh Salad Greens Indoors
Another summer feature is a nice crisp salad. Store bought salads can often be relatively tasteless depending on variety and growing method. You can grow your own delicious salads in your own apartment cheaply and effectively. The added benefit is some greenery as well!
#3: Growing Strawberries Indoors
It’s one of the most popular fruits of the summer and fall for a reason. There are few things as delicious as a perfectly ripe & juicy strawberry. You can enjoy these fresh, even without room to garden outside. These can be grown indoors near windows in order to still enjoy this sweet fruit treat.
